What is a Lap Counter?

A lap counter is a tool that records the time taken to complete each individual lap, round or interval during an activity. It runs a built-in timer and saves a record of every lap so you can compare your times and track your progress.

Unlike a basic stopwatch that only shows total elapsed time, a lap counter gives you a complete breakdown of each lap. You can see which lap was your fastest, which was your slowest, and what your average lap time is.

ToolNest's free online lap counter works entirely in your browser. There is nothing to install and no account needed. Just open the page, press Start and begin recording your laps instantly.

1
Press Start
Click the Start button or press Spacebar to begin the timer. The elapsed time will start counting immediately.
2
Record Each Lap
Click the Lap button or press L on your keyboard each time you complete a lap. The lap time is saved instantly.
3
Pause When Needed
