What is a Score Counter?
A score counter is an online scoreboard tool that tracks points for multiple players or teams during any game or sport. It replaces physical scoreboards, paper tracking and mental maths so you can focus entirely on the game.
ToolNest's score counter goes beyond just adding and subtracting points. It includes a built-in countdown timer with configurable minutes, seconds and number of periods. Each player card supports multiple score types β you can track main scores, fouls, periods or any custom category you name yourself.
Everything works directly in your browser. Open the page, enter player names, set the timer and start playing. No download, no account and no payment required.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the score counter free?+
Yes, it is completely free. There is no signup, no account and no payment required. All features including the timer, multiple score types and unlimited players are available at no cost.
How do I track fouls separately from score?+
Each player card has a Fouls row below the main Score row by default. Use the plus and minus buttons on that row to track fouls independently. You can also add any additional custom rows using the Add Row button on each card.
Can I add more than 2 players?+
Yes. Click the Add Player button above the scoreboard to add another player card. You can add as many players as needed. Remove any player with the X button on their card.
How does the period timer work?+
Set the duration per period in the minutes and seconds fields, then set how many periods the game has. Press Start to begin. When a period ends the timer stops and the period number advances. Press Start again to begin the next period.
Will scores save if I close the browser?+
Scores remain active while the page is open. Closing or refreshing the tab will reset everything. Note down final scores before leaving the page if you need to keep a record.
